The alleged payments were reportedly made by members of the public seeking driving licenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Colombo Chief Magistrate Thanuja Lakmali, presiding over the case, extended the remand period after reviewing the evidence submitted by the Bribery Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The case has drawn widespread attention, highlighting ongoing concerns over corruption within public institutions.
