{"id":28271,"date":"2025-06-20T11:20:14","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T05:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=28271"},"modified":"2025-06-20T15:59:38","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T10:29:38","slug":"npp-secures-control-of-galle-municipal-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=28271","title":{"rendered":"NPP Secures Control of Galle Municipal Council"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sunil Gamage of the National People\u2019s Power (NPP) has been appointed as the new Mayor of the Galle Municipal Council with 19 votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the mayoral vote, the council held a preliminary vote to decide whether the selection should be done through a secret ballot or a public vote. A majority supported the secret vote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following this decision, members of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) boycotted the session and left.
