Professor Wasantha Athukorala of Peradeniya University’s Department of Economics and Statistics says that businessmen’s confidence in President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the current government has led to an increase in the stock market’s price index.
He points out that the increase in the index values \u200b\u200bof the stock market is a positive situation and that the stock market values \u200b\u200bare based on the economic and political stability of the country.
Accordingly, the professor states that business people have much faith in President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who came to power in the last presidential election. Businessmen are investing in the stock market with more confidence than ever before. He also warns that efforts should be made to maintain this situation for a long time; otherwise, it may collapse again.
He further says that attention should be paid to attracting foreign investors to the stock market, bringing more foreign currency into the country and increasing stock prices.<\/p>\n
