The media reports that the previous government provided 1,690 firearms to 1,500 people, including Yoshita Rajapaksa, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son, Avant Guarde Nissanka Senadhipathy, and former minister Johnston Fernando.
Those who obtained the firearms included members of parliament and non-Parliamentarians, including Nissanka Senadhipati and Yoshitha Rajapaksa.
Accordingly, 08 firearms have been given to former Member of Parliament Johnston Fernando, 09 firearms to Nissanka Senadhipathy, and 07 firearms to Yoshitha Rajapaksa. Their total is 24 firearms, which also includes 16 firearms of the 09 mm type.
The Ministry of Defense has already notified to hand over these firearms to the government immediately.
