{"id":26956,"date":"2024-10-01T06:12:00","date_gmt":"2024-10-01T00:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=26956"},"modified":"2024-10-04T20:18:56","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T14:48:56","slug":"akds-message-on-childrens-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=26956","title":{"rendered":"AKD&#8217;s message on Children&#8217;s Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The future belongs to our children&#8221;, states a message issued by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to mark World Children&#8217;s Day 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">President Dissanayake states in his message that his government&#8217;s mission is to free children from harmful prejudices and social effects and the pressures of exam-focused education, which hinder their psychosocial development and aim to reclaim the joyful, carefree childhood that every child deserves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The message in full:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>World Children&#8217;s Day 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The future belongs to our children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#8217;s dedicate ourselves to creating a better world for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have identified several significant challenges facing today&#8217;s children, including poverty, malnutrition, inadequate health and sanitation, environmental degradation, educational disparities, social inequalities, and the risks associated with substance abuse and technology misuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our mission in this renaissance era is to free children from harmful prejudices and social effects, and the pressures of exam-focused education, which hinder their psychosocial development. We aim to reclaim the joyful, carefree childhood that every child deserves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By nurturing a generation of children who are healthy both in mind and spirit, we can foster compassionate, independent, and imaginative individuals who will shape a better future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To achieve this, we are committed to promoting economic freedom, fostering human kindness, building mutual trust, and encouraging respect and acceptance within society.
