He had taken oath as Minister of Finance and Economy before taking the oath as a Member of Parliament.<br \/>President Anura Dissanayake has asked for the Attorney General&#8217;s opinion. The Attorney General has stated that it is not legal to take oath as a minister in a situation where one has not taken oath as a member of Parliament.<br \/>The President has accepted the attorney general&#8217;s opinion, demonstrating his respect for legal advice.
