Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya emphasizes that the government is responsible for all appointments it makes.
She emphasized this while meeting journalists in Kandy yesterday (28).
She emphasized that her government will not hesitate to act if public officials under her government are accused of any wrongdoing.
The questions raised by the journalists and the answers given by the Prime Minister are shown below:
Question: How are you preparing for the general election?
Answer: We should prepare well for the general election. We believe that the victory we received in the presidential election will be made even better, and a team will be elected to the parliament that can build the country.
Question: Can the three-member cabinet fulfill the country’s responsibility?
Answer: We accepted this and are ready to make that sacrifice.
Question: There is an allegation that the officers accused of wrongdoing have been appointed to high government positions.
Answer: If someone is accused under our rule, we will not hesitate to act. We are already making positive changes, and such changes will continue.
Question: Some people believe that education is not functioning properly. Is there a plan to formalize it?
Answer: I got a chance to meet the principals of the national schools. Education is a leading role for the National People’s Power Government. Today, trust in education has completely broken down. Our first task is to rebuild that broken trust. The background should be set for children to go to school happily. Parents should not be burdened with their children’s education. Teachers should also be given the opportunity to pursue their careers happily, said the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n
