The policy statement of 40 areas presented by the National People’s Power for the upcoming presidential election will include abolishing the executive presidency, transferring powers to the parliament, establishing a new constitution with equal rights for all races, and confirming democracy, says General Secretary of the JVP Tilvin Silva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized that the policy statement of the NPP government will be launched on August 26 at 10.00 am at the Monarch Imperial Hotel in Kotte. Priority has been given in the policy sttement to good governance, stopping fraud and corruption, and stopping racism said the JVP General Secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He further said that 40 priority areas are included in this policy statement, which will be presented under the theme “A rich country\u2014a beautiful life.”
He also said that this policy statement has a strong focus on the complete preparation of the country’s economy and how to develop the economy in the fields of industries, agriculture, fisheries, plantations, investments, etc., instilling a sense of security and optimism in the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also pointed out that this policy statement includes a number of issues, including the use of technology, making public services like education, health, and transportation beneficial and good for the people, and providing relief to the poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that the rights and safety of women, children, and the elderly have been given due importance in this declaration, ensuring that every citizen feels valued and protected.<\/p>\n
