{"id":26322,"date":"2024-08-01T21:15:40","date_gmt":"2024-08-01T15:45:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=26322"},"modified":"2024-08-07T17:41:53","modified_gmt":"2024-08-07T12:11:53","slug":"police-commission-fills-a-vacancy-a-relief-for-the-post-of-igp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=26322","title":{"rendered":"Police Commission fills a vacancy \u2013 a relief for the post of IGP"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Lalith Patinayake has been appointed to oversee the work of the Police Administration Division.<br \/>The position is vacant because the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police, Lalith Patinayake, was placed on compulsory leave pending the completion of the disciplinary investigation involving the Easter Sunday terrorist attack.<br \/>He was sent on compulsory leave on the 18th of this month, and until today (01), no one had been appointed to fill the vacancy.<br \/>Currently, the post of Inspector General of Police is vacant due to a stay order given by the Supreme Court.
