However, the Auditor General&#8217;s Department has not been provided with the ability to take legal action against the minister in charge of the relevant government agency or the secretary of the ministry.<br \/>Especially since 2006 under the President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and then under the joint rule of Maithripala Sirisena and Ranil Wickramasinghe, this situation has increased rapidly, and it has been revealed that the situation has become worse during the short reign of Gotabaya Rajapaksa.<br \/>By now, it had been revealed in Parliament that several notorious ministers under President Ranil Wickremesinghe are involved in public finance crimes.
