{"id":20572,"date":"2023-03-22T13:34:51","date_gmt":"2023-03-22T08:04:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=20572"},"modified":"2023-03-22T13:34:52","modified_gmt":"2023-03-22T08:04:52","slug":"npp-files-defamation-case-against-finance-secretary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=20572","title":{"rendered":"NPP files defamation case against Finance Secretary"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court by NPP Member of Parliament Vijitha Herath demanding that Finance Ministry Secretary Mahinda Siriwardena be found guilty of contempt of court and punished.<br \/>In his petiton, Mr Herath states that The Secretary of the Ministry of Finance has insulted the court by disobeying the order given by the Supreme Court to prevent the withholding of funds from the 2023 budget for the local government election.
