{"id":20402,"date":"2023-02-26T20:01:02","date_gmt":"2023-02-26T14:31:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=20402"},"modified":"2024-01-14T13:43:25","modified_gmt":"2024-01-14T08:13:25","slug":"water-and-tear-gas-attack-on-npp-protest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=20402","title":{"rendered":"Water and tear gas attack on NPP protest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The anti-riot police carried out a water and tear gas attack on the protest march the National People&#8217;s Power (NPP) started today (26th) afternoon, protesting against the increase in electricity bill, increase in taxes, non-holding of elections.<br \/>The protestors and the anti-riot police met face to face near Ibbanwala Junction near Town Hall, where the leaders of the NPP continuously told the police to allow them to move forward.
