{"id":17211,"date":"2022-02-23T23:33:28","date_gmt":"2022-02-23T18:03:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=17211"},"modified":"2022-02-23T23:33:32","modified_gmt":"2022-02-23T18:03:32","slug":"sunil-madhava-a-distinguished-journalist-no-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lankatruth.com\/en\/?p=17211","title":{"rendered":"Sunil Madhava, a distinguished journalist, no more!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sunil Madhava Premathilaka, a unique journalist who took a revolutionary approach to leftist journalism, passed away a short while ago.<br \/>He began his media career at Lakehouse in the mid-1960s, pursuing international courses and promoting radical media practice. From the very beginning, he at \u2018Divaina\u2019 along with Dayasena Gunasinghe and Edmond Ranasinghe revolutionized the traditional journalism of the country.<br \/>With \u2018Divaina\u2019 newspaper, he launched a radical media campaign targeting the youth under the name &#8216;Page 08&#8217;.<br \/>After Divaina, Sunil Madhava continued his radical media use as editor-in-chief of Lakdiva and Hiru newspapers.<br \/>In addition, he has translated several books, including Crying for Literary Freedom, America America, Carolina&#8217;s Diary, and Mohamed Ali. The most popular of these was the diary of a truth-seeker.
