Accordingly, the number of infected persons per million in Sri Lanka on the 24th was 2,217, the highest recorded number. By then, the daily death rate had risen to 8.63 per million population, and the daily number of infected had multiplied to 253 per million population.<br \/>April 23 can be considered a milestone in this growth. By that day, the total number of infected people was 99,961. The figure shows the number of infections collected for 13 months. However, in the 123 days from April 24 to August 24, the number of infected people was 303,324. Also, the total number of infected people receiving treatment on April 23 was 5,017, but it increased to 48,768 by August 24.
