M. G. D. Kotakadeniya and former IGP Meryl Gunaratne have spoken to the media in this regard. Former DIG Meryl Gunaratne said, &#8220;If such a journey is to be taken with other police officers, the prior permission of the IGP should be taken. Without that, one cannot travel in official vehicles wearing such uniforms.
