The government has failed in all aspects of suppressing the corona. Now it is using the corona to fulfil the government’s political interests, says KD Lal Kantha, Chairman of the National Trade Union Center. He was speaking at a media briefing held at the National Trade Union Center in Colombo yesterday (23rd).
He said that the theme of the government was ‘Let’s live with the corona’ and that it had failed to suppress the corona due to the unscientific actions of the government, and due to this, the country was facing several crises.
He said that instead of living with corona, the government should take action now to end corona. If a correct policy is followed, the country’s working people would be ready to support such a programme. However, he emphasized that the policy being followed by the government is to put more pressure on the people and the people in all walks of life, including the working people, are preparing to take action against it
In addition to Mr Lal Kantha, Dr Jayantha Bandara, Secretary of the All Ceylon Medical Officers ‘Union, Mahinda Jayasinghe, Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Service Union, and Samantha Koralearachchi, President of the All Ceylon Health Trade Union Federation and several others were also present at the media briefing.<\/p>\n
